Once again, the AICI forum conference had excellent talks and gave inspiring insight on the use of AI in clinical imaging.

I had the privilege of joining and presenting my work at the 2024 ISMRM meeting – one of the largest conferences dedicated to Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It is my pleasure to tell you how I experienced it.

At the end of “Medizinische Gerätekunde” course, the 2nd-semester bachelor students visited the Klinikum Klagenfurt and were guided through the shock room, the intensive care, the dialysis, and the surgery units, to see how are the devices they learned about applied in clinics.

Last week, 26 pupils took part in the CUAS TECH Camp 2023 and worked on cool technical projects in which they got a taste of topics from various fields. In Team Heart, we were constructing an enlightened 3D-printed model of a human heart.

Our 4th-semester bachelor students visited the KABEG Klinikum Klagenfurt to look at the medical imaging devices they had learned about this semester. ” Seeing the equipment that is taught about in theory in practice gives the whole thing more reality and practical relevance.”

The CUAS and its IARA research centre participated in the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme “Digital Competences” which gathered students and teachers from four European countries to study the opportunities and obstacles digitalization creates for different target groups.

Mr Fakia had presented his bachelor project at the International Student Congress (ISC) at the Medical University of Graz. The ISC covered a large variety of topics, ranging from recent covid-related discoveries to neuroscientific and biobehavioural progress. Let´s read more about his experience.

AICI forum 2022 covered a variety of aspects and applications of artificial intelligence in the medical context. Many students from CUAS joined this onsite event to get a first-hand overview of AI and its current and future footprint. Mr Peter Pfaffeneder, a master’s student of Applied Data Science, with his talk on “Elastomeric sensors for 3d shape sensing” placed 3rd place in the “Best Scientific Presentation” competition – congratulations.

QMR Lucca 2022 was the biggest workshop in the field of MR based Phase Imaging, Magnetic Susceptibility and Electrical Properties Mapping. I had the pleasure to be there, together with researchers and clinicians from all over the world.
