AICI forum (Artificial Intelligence in Clinical Imaging), in its fourth year, took place at the Medical University of Graz. The range of talks was broad, covering a variety of aspects and applications of artificial intelligence in the medical context. Building trust, deskilling and upskilling, and applications in histopathology, breast imaging and image reconstruction are just some of the highlights of this 2 days conference. The attendees could also take part in a tutorial on MONAI – an open-source PyTorch-based framework for deep learning in healthcare imaging.
About 140 attendees from ten nations joined the onsite event. Among them were also many students from CUAS (Carinthia University of Applied Sciences), interested in getting a first-hand overview of AI and its current and future footprint. Mr Peter Pfaffeneder, a master’s student of Applied Data Science at the CUAS, gave his first scientific talk on “Elastomeric sensors for 3d shape sensing” with which he placed 3rd place in the “Best Scientific Presentation” competition – congratulations.
