I mean these kind of students who are really interested into the project and incorporate their own ideas, one of the rare varieties&#8230;..&nbsp; A year ago one of this rare varieties volunteered for one of my projects&#8230;. yeah<\/p>\n<p>The goal was to build a BLCD Motor Test-Stand to measure how electric current and buoyancy are changing on several different motor propeller combinations. The motor\/props tests are mainly focused for usage with Quadrocopter like vehicles. Furthermore Amir (Godfather of Quadrocopters)<br \/>\ncame up with the idea to measure the Tau63 for the PT1 transmission behavior.<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.fh-kaernten.at\/wehr\/files\/2010\/06\/blc-TestStand.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-348\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fh-kaernten.at\/wehr\/files\/2010\/06\/blc-TestStand.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"507\" height=\"469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fh-kaernten.at\/wehr\/files\/2010\/06\/blc-TestStand.jpg 507w, https:\/\/blog.fh-kaernten.at\/wehr\/files\/2010\/06\/blc-TestStand-300x277.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 507px) 100vw, 507px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The software part is entirely written in G (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ni.com\/labview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LabVIEW<\/a>).&nbsp; For data acquisition we used the <a href=\"https:\/\/sine.ni.com\/nips\/cds\/view\/p\/lang\/en\/nid\/10968\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>NI PCI-6024E<\/em><\/a> interfaced via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ni.com\/dataacquisition\/nidaqmx.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DAQmx<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With DAQmx you can set up your measurement hardware very easily (see next snippet).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.fh-kaernten.at\/wehr\/files\/2010\/06\/BLC-TestStand-LV1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-357\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fh-kaernten.at\/wehr\/files\/2010\/06\/BLC-TestStand-LV1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"553\" height=\"211\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fh-kaernten.at\/wehr\/files\/2010\/06\/BLC-TestStand-LV1.jpg 553w, https:\/\/blog.fh-kaernten.at\/wehr\/files\/2010\/06\/BLC-TestStand-LV1-300x114.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 553px) 100vw, 553px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Measured signals are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sampling rate = 10kHz<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BLC- Ctrl. Phase 1<\/li>\n<li>BLC- Ctrl. Phase 2<\/li>\n<li>BLC- Ctrl. Phase 3<\/li>\n<li>motor speed with optical sensor<\/li>\n<li>power input<\/li>\n<li>command acknowledge from&nbsp; BLDC-Controller<\/li>\n<li>voltage supply<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the measure of the buoyancy force we use a weighing machine \ud83d\ude42 (see gallery)<\/p>\n<p>To measure the motor\/prop. speed we used two different measuring methods.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1. Laser module&nbsp; and a photodiode:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">As you could see in the circuit diagram it is very high sophisticated \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.fh-kaernten.at\/wehr\/files\/2010\/06\/BLC-optical.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-367 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fh-kaernten.at\/wehr\/files\/2010\/06\/BLC-optical.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"370\" height=\"153\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fh-kaernten.at\/wehr\/files\/2010\/06\/BLC-optical.jpg 370w, https:\/\/blog.fh-kaernten.at\/wehr\/files\/2010\/06\/BLC-optical-300x124.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 370px) 100vw, 370px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">2. Via&nbsp; Back EMF (back electromotive force)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Back EMF is the voltage that pushes against the current which induces it.
