After installing the new Eclipse 3.6M7 Stream Stable Build<\/em> I could not connect to any update site nor to another project site.<\/p>\n

After some investigation I found out that there must be something wrong with the used IP protocol stack. Eclipse<\/a> seems to use IP4<\/p>\n

So if you start eclipse with<\/p>\n

.\/eclipse -vmargs -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true<\/p>\n

eclipse should be able to reach your update sites.<\/p>\n

A<\/strong> small update to my Post:<\/p>\n

I just found out that the real problem is a new\u00a0 sysctl-setting under \/etc\/sysctl.d\/bindv6only.conf<\/strong>. LOL<\/p>\n

Check the net.ipv6.bindv6only<\/strong> item this should be 0<\/strong> (null).<\/p>\n

After changing reset the sys kernel variabels with:<\/p>\n

sudo invoke-rc.d procps restart<\/p>\n
