ePIC, the 16th International Conference on Recognition, Trust, Identity and their Technologies – including Open Badges – took place in Paris from 24th to 26th October. This year’s conference was titled Building Open Recognition Ecosystems, since recognition doesn’t reside in the certificates but in the networks of trust between people and communities.
The TObP project representatives travelled to the venue for two reasons: to learn more about open badges and their sustainable use and to present the TObP project as part of the conference program. The project gained the interest of many participants who also expressed their support by their willingness to cooperate with different topics of the project – a big thank you to everyone!

The TObP project kick-off meeting took place from 3rd to 5th October on CUAS campus Primoschgasse in Klagenfurt, Austria. All our partners from Finland, Kosovo, Germany and Switzerland joined the meeting to ensure a fruitful start for the collaboration – we are very happy to have a consortium with such an enthusiasm and diverse expertise!
Apart from getting to know each other, during the two and a half days we had a lot on our plate – starting a 3-year project is indeed no small task. We worked intensively on reaching a joint understanding of the project’s purpose, implementation and how to put the intellectual outputs into practice. Project management was naturally part of the meeting agenda , as well as clarifying the timeline and each partner’s roles, tasks and contributions, to name a few topics.
Last but not least we agreed on the next steps until our next meeting in the end of May 2019 in Finland.
